The Citizens' Committee on Water & Wastewater is a group of volunteers working to: develop a full, complete and balanced statement of the City of Rio Vista's funding needs; analyze the City's Operating and Financial documents; prepare rational explanations of funding needs and of the consequences of a defeat of the proposed fee increases; and, to inform the Citizens of Rio Vista about the appropriateness of the proposed fee increases and of "voting" procedures under Proposition 218.

Our Mission and Purpose: To inform on and contribute to solutions of our City's fiscal problems. To provide beneficial recommendations to City Council and Staff about these problems and potential solutions.

The proposed increases in Wastewater Rates for the Northwest and Beach Drive Systems have survived the Protest Ballot Procedures of Proposition 218 [for more details see “After Recount, Beach Sewer Plant Rate Increases Pass” at http://riovistaadvocates.com]. When City Council Reconvenes their Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 30th at
5:30 PM, they will consider the approval of an Urgency Ordinance permitting these new rates to take effect immediately. The Citizens’ Committee will be redirecting its efforts to other potentially beneficial contributions to improved City governance.  The CCww will be discontinuing this Web Site in early July. We hope this Site has been of value to you over its 14 months of operation.
